What is Overweight & Obesity?

Overweight and obesity is caused by the fact that we eat more than what the body have time to burn. It increases the risk of a range of diseases, among them cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The best way to lose weight is to change your eating habits and exercise more. Exercise, healthy nutrition, medical treatment and surgery are common solutions to overweight and obesity.

Obesity and overweight is determined based on a persons Body mass index (BMI). BMI is based on the relationship between a person’s height and weight.

Another method is measuring waist circumference. If you have a lot of fat over the stomach, it may increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

How To Loose Weight!
To lose weight, you have to genrate more energy than what you consume through food and drinks. By moving more you generate more energy.

Healthy nutrition and exercise is the best way to lose weight. 3 meals a day and one to three snacks in between. Steady breakfast in the morning, lunch at noon and dinner late afternoon or early evening is a good distribution. In between, you may need a snack like a fruit.

Then there’s surgery, a more drastic approach. Unless a person is greatly overweight and directly in danger of his/her life this should not be considered as an option.

Recommended is that if you fear you might be overweight or obese you should schedule an apointment with your physician. He/she will be able to establish best possible weight-loss method.

Obesity and overweight is one of the 21st century’s largest problems and diabetes amongst our children have never been more common. If we do not start eating healthier and excersising we will soon not have a future to look forward to. Food is for us to survive and should not be such a big contributing factor of todays death-ratings.
